The Pleated Scroll - with Sally Penley on Zoom (class will be recorded)
Date & Time
Saturday, September 12, 2026 • 10:00 – 12:30 PST
Description: In this 2.5-hour workshop, you will learn to create a pleated scroll—a folded book form that, when opened, stretches out to a long wall hanging. The pleated scroll is ideal for displaying quotes and artwork, or sending wishes, poems or letters to friends and family. The covers are made with beautiful Japanese decorative paper and the book is bound with waxed linen thread and bead embellishments. A keepsake treasure!
Class will be limited to 25. No art experience necessary
How it will work on Zoom: Two weeks before class, Sally will snail-mail a kit of materials to make three pleated scrolls. A day or two before class, she will email the handouts (instructions) and a Zoom link to enter the class.
Participants outside the U.S. will be asked to pay for extra postage on the kit mailing.
